LINCOLN – Nebraska Wesleyan University tennis player Nate Anderson was one of 29 men in the nation in all divisions selected to receive a $7,500 postgraduate scholarship from the NCAA for the spring 2008 sports season.
Anderson, a senior from Fremont, graduated from NWU in May with a 3.87 GPA with a biochemistry and molecular biology major. Anderson was an All-GPAC selection this year at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles. He was 14-7 in singles and 14-6 in doubles matches as a senior. During his career he earned six All-GPAC awards and one honorable mention All-Conference award. He finished his career with 65 doubles victories to set a new school career record. His 56 singles victories rank fourth all-time in NWU history.
Anderson is the first men’s tennis player at Nebraska Wesleyan to earn a NCAA Postgraduate scholarship. He was also named an Academic All-American this year.
