Brian and Dana Mark participated in the Omaha City Championships held at Koch Tennis Center Aug. 7-9, 2009. They brought home a runner-up trophy in 3.5 doubles.
In round one, they defeated Dan Canfield and Mike Friedman of Omaha, 6-1, 6-2. In round two they defeated Paul Greunke, Omaha and Geoffrey Brown, Vermont, 7-5, 6-1. In the finals, they played Todd and Lee Hultman of Omaha, losing 6-3, 2-6, 0-1(8).
Brian also played in 3.5 and 4.0 singles. He lost to Steve Sindelar, Omaha, 1-6, 2-6 in 3.5 singles. In 4.0 singles, he lost 1-6, 1-6 to Larry Abel, Lincoln. Larry Abel won the 3.5 singles, and made it to the finals in 4.0, which was postponed to Aug. 13 because of rain.
Dana also played 3.5 singles, losing in round one to Paul Greunke, Omaha, 1-6, 1-6.
