Fremont Tennis Association

The Fremont High girls tennis team posted a great win over Lincoln Northeast Thursday with an 8-1 victory.

Five singles players won their matches, including Jessica Spalding at No. 1, Megan Robertson at No. 2, Jessye Johnson at No. 3, Sydney Robertson at No. 4, and Carly Gross at No. 6.

The doubles matches were all close, yet ended up on the winning side for Fremont. Jessica Spalding and Megan Robertson won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles. Jessye Johnson and Sydney Robertson won 8-3 at No. 2, and Erin Eairleywine and Lindsey Strong had an 8-6 victory at No. 3.

Fremont’s JV team lost a close one, 5-4. Lindsey Strong, Amy Ahrens, Rachel Samuelson, and Morgan Beighley picked up wins for the Tigers JV team.

The Tigers are again in action Monday in a triangular with Omaha Burke and Lincoln Southeast in Fremont.

In varsity singles play:

• No. 1 – Jessica Spalding, 8-0 win over K. Schoelbeber.
• No. 2 – Megan Robertson, 8-2 win over M. Ferguson.
• No. 3 – Jessye Johnson, 8-2 win over M. Ray.
• No. 4 – Sydney Robertson, 8-0 win over E. Bachman.
• No. 5 – Erin Eairleywine, 3-8 loss to B. Schrader.
• No. 6 – Carly Gross, 8-6 win over C. Grabowski.

In varsity doubles play:

• No. 1 – Jessica Spalding/Megan Robertson, 8-6 win over Schoenleber/Ferguson.
• No. 2 – Jessye Johnson/Sydney Robertson, 8-3 win over Ray/Schrader.
• No. 3 – Erin Eairleywine/Lindsey Strong, 8-6 win over Bachman/A. Watson.

In Junior varsity singles play:

• No. 1 – Catherine Booth, 1-8 loss to Natalie Seral.
• No. 2 – Lindsey Strong, 8-6 win over Ashley Watson.
• No. 3 – Amy Ahrens, 8-1 win over Jaden Palmer.
• No. 4 – Rachel Samuelson, 8-4 win over Megan Treichel.
• No. 5 – Morgan Beighley, 8-0 win over Christine Collinue.
• No. 6 – Meg Ranspies, 8-9(5-7) loss to Linean Lindquist.

In Junior varsity doubles play:

• No. 1 – Bailey Stewart/Bayley Becher, 5-8 loss to Grawbowski/Seral.
• No. 2 – Katy Wilson/McKenzie Phelps, 4-8 loss to Playmer/Treichel
• No. 3 – Kylie Schiermann/Tess Seawall, 4-8 loss to Collinue/Lindquist
