Here are the results with Coach Larsen’s comments on certain matches:

In singles play:

  • No. 1 – Rachel Samuelson lost to Emma Neil of Papillion-LaVista 1-8 in the main draw. She defeated Torey Kogel of Burke 8-5 in the consolation bracket. “Rachel hit the ball very consistently and was able to win the long rallies.” Rachel lost to Yaryna Serednystsky of Elkhorn South 1-8.
  • No. 2 – Maria Laboy beat Mariah Metz of Bellevue East 8-2. “Maria was able to hit her shots with depth, forcing her opponent into tough shots.” Maria then lost to Lauren Fry of Lincoln Southwest 2-8 in the main draw. In the consolation match, Maria Laboy lost to Paige Bachkora of Kearney 0-8.

In doubles play:

  • No. 1 – Madison Carlson/Katy Wilson lost to C. Warren/J. Tatten of Omaha Marian 0-8 in the main draw. In the consolation bracket, Carlson/Wilson lost to E. Preister/A. Price of Columbus 1-8. “Maddi and Katy were able to get to deuce in most of the games, but unfortunately weren’t able to close them out.”
  • No. 2 – Abbie Norris/Sarah Young lost to G. Parsons/S. Coitti of Lincoln Southeast 4-8 in the main draw. In the consolation bracket Norris/Young beat J. Freregrino/A. Sharkey of Omaha North 9-1. “Abbie and Sarah played a great match to earn their first doubles win of the season. I really liked the way they competed and found a way to win.” They then lost to K. Irvin/C. Swanson of Papillion La-Vista 0-8.
  • No. 3 – Lauren Fischer/Jackie Stevens lost to L. Hull/S. Sindelar of Bellevue East 1-8 in the main draw. In the consolation bracket they lost to A. Coleman/M. Scheuler of Grand Island 1-8.

Team Scoring
No. 1 Singles Consolation – 4 points.
No. 2 Singles Main draw – 4 points.
No. 2 Doubles Consolation – 1 point.
Total team points – 9.

After the match, coach Jeremy Larsen said, “With this being a very busy week, I am proud of the effort the girls gave today. They showed great toughness and are improving with each match. With Carly Gross feeling ill the past few days, we had to make some changes to the lineup. The girls took on the challenge and competed with great poise. We return to action next Tuesday, when we host Norfolk in a dual.”
