May 31 is the early entry deadline for the 2010 tennis Cornhusker State Games. If you are planning to play, and haven’t already registered, you’ll want to head over to Cornhusker State Games ASAP to register online, or for more information.

There are two Junior tennis tournaments coming up in Fremont. These are tournaments for players aged 18 and under. Participants will be grouped by age.

This is a good chance for some of our Fremont Junior players to gain some match experience, meet some new tennis friends, and play some exciting tennis.

• Non-elimination singles tournament
• For 18 and under – grouped by age.
• A fun tournament

The court resurfacing has been started, but they are only working on four courts at a time. That leaves us plenty of courts for leagues this Wednesday.

We will be playing leagues. See you there!

The Fremont Girls’ Tennis Team played their final dual of the season Thursday, May 13 and defeated Lincoln High 7-2.

For Fremont, Jessica Spalding won over Hannah Higgins 8-3 at No. 1 singles. Jessye Johnson defeated Lindsey Keller 8-6 at No. 3 singles, and Sydney Robertson had a shutout, 8-0 over Merdith Cain at No. 4, while Amy Ahrens had an easy win over Jessica Fasnacht, 8-1. Continue reading this post…

May 31 is the entry deadline for the 2010 tennis portion of the Cornhusker State Games, with June 7 as the final deadline. There is a $5.00 penalty for registrations received between June 1 and June 7, so sign up soon to save $5.00 per person. Continue reading this post…

The tennis courts at the Fremont High School Tennis complex are scheduled to be resurfaced beginning next week on Monday, May 10.

The project is set to take 10 days to two weeks, and is dependent of course on the weather. Should the project get under way as scheduled, leagues and other tennis activity at the High School tennis complex will be suspended for about two weeks.
