Norfolk posts 8-1 win over Fremont High

Fremont Tigers Boys TennisThe Fremont High Boys Tennis Team took on Norfolk on Monday at the FHS tennis courts. Norfolk came out the winner 8-1.

Torry Escamilla was the lone winner for Fremont at No. 1 singles, winning 8-4 over Kaleb Kreikemeier.

The No. 2 doubles team of Luke Samuelson and Brady Zoucha lost a tough match 8-6 to Eric Busskohl and Cody Schantz. [Read more →]

Samuelson, Zoucha win consolation title

Fremont Tigers Boys TennisThe No. 1 boys doubles team for Fremont High won consolation champion honors at the Papillion-LaVista Invitational on Monday.

Luke Samuelson and Brady Zoucha started off with a loss to Matt Schwindt and Brady Hopwood of Lincoln Northeast, but then won their next three matches. They defeated Bobby Barns and Cory Queen of Elkhorn High 8-2 to win the consolation title.

Luke Prescott picked up the other win for the Tigers on the day. He defeated Jordan Stoler of Omaha Central 8-5 to reach the consolation semifinals where he lost to Tyler Marick of Millard South 8-5. [Read more →]

Fremont Boy’s Tennis Team drops two at home triangular

Kiefer WilsonThe Fremont Boy’s Tennis team ran into tough opponents in their triangular Thursday at the FHS tennis complex. They were shut out by Lincoln Southwest and Lincoln North Star, both teams posting 6-0 wins over the Tigers.

Fremont did a little better against Lincoln North Star with the Tigers playing close in three matches. The Navigators won two doubles matches by the score of 8-5 and Max Schuerbuescher was an 8-6 winner over Torrey Escamilla at No. 1 singles.

Fremont Boys Tennis Team ties for 8th at Fremont Invitational

The Fremont High boys tennis team tied for eighth place at their own invitational Saturday at the Fremont High courts.

Lincoln Southeast won the tournament with 60 points. Norfolk was second with 43 points. Fremont ended with a 17 points.

Fremont’s Taylor Escamilla was 1-3 at No. 1 singles. His lone win was a 8-1 decision over Ian Turner of Papillion-La Vista.

The Tigers’ No. 1 doubles team of Luke Samuelson and Brady Zoucha also ended 1-3 on the day. Their win came over Cole Gruber and Dylan Lusero of PLV by the score of 8-4.

Mac Richards was 0-4 at No. 2 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Kiefer Wilson and Luke Prescott also finished 0-4.

Team Standings-1, Lincoln Southeast 60; 2, Norfolk 43; 3, Elkhorn Mt. Michael 43; 4, Lincoln East 42; 5, Omaha Westside 39; 6, Omaha Burke 34; 7, Millard South 22; 8t, Fremont 17; 8t, Columbus 17; 10, Papillion-La Vista 13.

Lincoln East defeats FHS Boys Tennis team 8-1

Fremont Tigers Boys TennisThe Lincoln East Spartans were tough on the Fremont Tigers, winning eight of nine matches for the win on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010.

Luke Prescott and Luke Samuelson earned the lone win for the Tigers at No. 3 doubles in a close match over Levi Stroup and Nels Holmquist 8-6.

Samuelson had the closest contest in singles play falling 8-3 to Hunter Dunlap at No. 2 singles. [Read more →]

FHS Tennis Team splits at Burke/Prep Triangular

Luke PrescottThe Fremont High boy’s tennis team had a win and a loss Tuesday in a triangular with Omaha Burke and Creighton Prep at the FHS tennis courts.

Fremont defeated Burke 4-2, but lost to Creighton Prep 6-0.

Junior Torrey Escamilla got the only singles win for FHS against Burke at No. 1 singles. He defeated Matt Hrdlicka 8-5. Fremont swept doubles play. Brady Zoucha and Luke Samuelson won 8-4, Mac Richards and Kiefer Wilson won 8-5 and Robbie Giovanazze and Nick Niday won 8-3.

Samuelson and Zoucha had the best showing for Fremont against Prep winning three games from Niko Piperos and Ethan Gart.
